I tried to apply Frederick Hammersley’s concept of system and whimsy to my process of work so I thought I should set up some rules or narrow down options like he did and let my mind do the job.
One of the most basic elements of any image is structure so, in order to start off with a solid base, I turned to Wucius Wong’s Principal of Form and Design for guidance.

I used the variations of the basic grid as the system and then went into the random list generator website to randomised colours. I then used the colours to create abstract images based on the grids and lastly randomised words to name each image.

Here are the results :

The next step is to take this further and experiment with more shapes and possibilities. See what can happen and if there’s anything I can grab and execute as a final body of work.
