A semi-cynical conclusion from morning class :
- Academic research is not the only way to do research.
- As artists/designers we’re all subconsciously researching.
- Observation is also a research method as well as eating a donut.
- All of this is so subjective. I can already see myself having a nervous breakdown with my dissertation.
- Decision making that comes from pure emotion is valid.
- Not having a reason is also valid.
- I somehow disagree with the last two points above.
Honestly, I feel like this course is going to raise so many questions about what ‘Illustration’ actually means and I hope there are actual answers ( and not just ‘illustration can be anything’ ). Fingers crossed.
