Computer Humour

Another keyword that I’ve chosen : Computer Humour.

I came up with an extremely silly idea about computer joking around with humans last time and now I have this ridiculous idea that I want to try and make something out of it. I looked through a glossary of digital / online words and pick words that have double meaning. Because the other meaning of these words are so unrelated to the digital world, I want to somehow create a visual representation of the meaning.

For example :

Back End meaning the part of a computer system, piece of software, etc., where data is stored or processed rather than the parts that are seen or directly used by the users also means a person’s or animal’s bottom. ( According to the Cambridge dictionary )

RAM meaning Random Access Memory also means an animal similar to a sheep.

Bluetooth can be visualised as an actual BLUE TOOTH.

Firewall can also be an ACTUAL WALL MADE OF FIRE.

There are various words in the glossary that sounds funny when you turn it into a straightforward visual of the word. The problem is I don’t really know what to do with all these jokes and what to explore more. I borrowed ‘A Smile in the Mind’ from the library hoping to read more about wit in design and how it can be interpreted visually. I really like this idea but it’s also an extremely stupid one with no seriousness or class whatsoever. Apart from drawing out this ideas, I would like to do some art direction as well and maybe come up with a set of witty photos inspired by these double-meaning words. Looking up to Maurizio Cattelan for guidance.
