From Monday’s session about how music works with cinema / visual narrative. Our task was to put new soundtrack / score over a chosen movie scene changing the mood or the context of the story.
My group includes Nicole, Knight and Finn. We used Nicole’s choice of the scene in Kill Bill to play around with. These are some results :
A rap music video style.
A broadway-like number.
A Chinese tv drama.
We went for a humorous approach and enjoyed it very much. I’ve always been aware of how music influenced visual narrative and how it affects the mood. I would like to work with music as well but for now, my final major project doesn’t seem to require music.
When we talked about diegetic and non-diegetic sounds I immediately thought about this video from COS which was directed by Lernert and Sander.
I think it’s incredibly well-executed and a fresh way to advertise clothing.
