I went to two events during London Craft Week : An exhibition by Material Driven and G.F Smith papers and Peckham Craft Show
A lot of the display/artworks involved recycled materials which is not surprising since we are moving towards a more sustainable future. Although I don’t feel as strongly towards the Material Driven exhibition compared to the Peckham Craft Show, I was impressed by a stool design made up of household trash.

The stool was made by Charlotte Allen who is a recent graduate. I was really impressed by the fact that she is a graphic design major but created something that fits in with product design and material design. A graphic designer creating a piece of furniture is fascinating and she explained her process really well.
I also went to Peckham Craft Show at the Copeland gallery in Peckham. I love the space and the area but some of my friends are scared of the area and claim that it’s not London which is ridiculous.
I really like the show. Here are some of my favourite works:

I really like the way they display all the works. It feels like a very beautiful furniture/home goods showroom which compliments the vibe very well.

I love these wooden artworks so much. The use of different woods is so subtle and it creates a blend between craft and illustration.

Overall it was a beautiful exhibition and I want to buy all of them and take them home. It is now my goal to be so rich that buying a 40 pounds ceramic mug feels like nothing. I consider these exhibitions as part of my research into the physicality of artwork as well.
