WIP part 1

Experiments part 1

An experiment on making inflatables myself. From watching a few youtube videos, I’ve decided to try out a fairly simple method of using foil and iron to seal a plastic bag.

Using a bin liner. Ironing it and flipping it inside out to hide the seams. This one is very light and soft. I’m not sure if it can do a decent push but it reacts to any levels of air even the extremely soft ones.

For the next one, I used a normal plastic bag for groceries which has more substance. After sealing it into the shape I want, I attached it to a hairdryer. The results are like so:

It holds the air quite well.

Other than trying out the inflatables I made a mock up of the canvas piece.

A mockup using plywood and leftover calico fabric.

I’ve ordered a few stretched fabric which I will select later.

More in part 2.
